Mission

“Charlotte’s Place was established to provide a loving, supportive, safe and educational environment for children and their families. It is our goal to offer care that meets the intellectual, social, emotional, and physical needs of each child.

Philosophy: “Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But, for children, play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood.” ~Fred Rogers

We believe play is incredibly important in the daily growth and development of children. Children learn through active participation in daily activities and will be encouraged to develop new levels of imagination and play. We believe optimal growth and development takes place through organized and free play.

Our Standards

Charlotte’s Place adheres to NM Child Care Regulations, however we are committed to striving for excellence when it comes to the care of your child. One of the ways we exceed these minimum state requirements is reducing the teacher-to-child ratios that support optimal care and learning. The following ratios are what you can expect when your child attends Charlotte’s Place.

  • Infants: 1:4 (NM regulations 1:6)
  • Toddlers: 1:8 (NM regulations 1:10)
  • Three Year Olds: 1:8 (NM regulations 1:12)
  • Four Year Olds: 1:10 (NM regulations 1:12;1:14)

    In The Classroom

At Charlotte’s Place, children are encouraged to become critical thinkers and problem solvers. As part of our mission to cultivate a welcoming community, our educators and caregivers model kindness and empathy. Every child deserves to feel safe, valued, and cared for in a loving environment that includes:

    • Teacher-to-child ratios that support optimal care and learning
    • Diverse classrooms, vital to learning.
    • Engaging, educational experiences.
    • Supportive guidance that teaches emotional self-regulation skills and healthy social interactions.
